Competitor Coupons Mean Big Savings

jo ann fabrics and michael's

A match made in heaven..

I’ve been running around like crazy buttoning up my last minute gifts, stocking stuffers and Christmas crafts today. I got some killer deals to wrap up my buying season and I just wanted to make a quick post tonight to remind you all that Jo Ann Fabrics and Michael’s both take competitor’s coupons. Jo Ann Fabrics used to only accept Michael’s coupons for non-fabric/sewing related items, but it appears that they have dissolved that regulation. A weekly recipient of 5 Sunday editions of the Denver Post, I stopped into Michael’s tonight to use one of the 5, 50% off coupons I’d been granted via the paper. Never one to break the rules, I only bought one item and used 1 of my 50% off coupons (you might be able to find a teller who will do two transactions and let you use 2 of these coupons, but such a practice is against Michael’s coupon policies and unethical in the eyes of this author!). I’ll go in tomorrow to get the last item I need and use another 50% off coupon. After exiting Michael’s, I ran to my car through the snowflurries and made my way to Jo Ann Fabrics where I used another 50% off Michael’s coupon on a $9 item that will be used to make 3 different crafty gifts!

The moral of the story I guess, is to remember to find the best deals around town, use competitor coupons and never, ever try to get a store’s employee to break the rules.

Save wisely and live happy!
